Our Animals

Hereford & Hereford-Angus Cross Beef Cows

The cattle we raise are a mix of Hereford, Black Angus, and Red Angus crosses. Our cattle are raised from birth totally grass fed along with our breeding stock animals who are 100% grass fed as well.  Animals are rotated continuously to fresh pastures until around 24-28 months of age when they are ready for market. We also have older animals that we process on occasion that make excellent burger and other flavorful cuts of meat. All of our cattle are free of added hormones and antibiotics.  We offer whole, half, and quarter beef, as well as beef bundle packs. Check out our store to see all of our currently available beef products!

No pesticides, herbicides are used in, near or around our Beef/Animals.

Ginkgo Farms specializes in raising grass-fed Hereford and Hereford-Angus cross beef cows in a natural stress-free environment. Our cows do not receive any kind of antibiotic or hormone treatment and are fed and finished on pastures which are completely chemical-free. Ginkgo Farms is located in beautiful Essex in Essex County just 3 miles west of Lake Champlain, New York. It is comprised of 250 acres of hay fields, pastures and woods on an escarpment overlooking the mountains of Vermont to the east and the ADK mountains of New York to the west. We are painstakingly restoring this former dairy farm back from a fate that has befallen so many like it. We offer whole, half, and split-side beef.

Once you’ve eaten farm-fresh eggs, it’s hard to go back to grocery store eggs. Fresh eggs—free-range or not—are delicious, with bright yolks and firm whites. Grocery store eggs are often already a month old before they even get to the shelves.

We raise our animals to provide you with quality meat products that will give you not only a great eating experience, but peace of mind knowing that your food has been grown locally, with great care, as well as:

• Humanely Raised

• Natural and Sustainable Methods

• Pasture-Based

• Never Fed Hormones, Steroids or Antibiotics

• Pastures/Hay never have Pesticides or Fertilizer applied
