Great Turnout for Farmer’s Market Opening Day

It was hard to tell which was the bigger hit at the opening day of the Braddock Park Farmer’s Market – the fresh, locally produced vegetables and fruits from Nolasco Farms or the delicious hot meals prepared by Chef Philip Joyce, Pancitos Food Truck, and The Corn Guys.

Lots of residents showed up for the event on Thursday, July 6 and enjoyed upbeat music from DJ Kraze plus free giveaways. Additional vendors included Book Haven Books with their wide selection of reading materials for kids, Heavenly Good and their huge inventory of toys, and Gingko Farms offering farm-fresh eggs and meat.

County Commissioner Robert Baselice, co-sponsor of the market with the Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation, was on hand to greet residents and ensure smooth operations on opening day.

The farmer’s market will return every Thursday night through September from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial in Braddock Park near 90th Street and Bergenline Avenue. There will be different vendors each week so come on down for a delicious meal and some healthy treats.
